I found from my seats the family pass was working great, but the restarts were horrible, i have no clue why they let those continue, as well i found it was one of the most aggressive races i've seen in a few years, kinda good with guys trying really hard to win but the race seemed to drag along, should've counted caution laps after a while if they wanted to finish the race quickly

OK....This is easy !!
The CONE on the wall is the MARK for restarts....all cars keep the PACE CAR/Truck speed to that point. 1st time out of line RESTART.....2nd time OFFENDER TO THE BACK......I think everyone can understand this. We would have been home an hour earlier because of the damage the restarts caused.

Agreed... however for whatever reason the starter does not want to send some cars to the back. hope they make changes before the showdown.

I will not dive too deeply into this discussion, but as a way of public transparency from the track I’ll add the following:

- The restart procedures during the Canada Day 100 are being reviewed and the speedway determining the best way to enforce them moving forward.  The restart zone on the front straight is the correct starting place.

- There is no conspiracy to allow drivers to gain advantages on starts and restarts.  Drivers do push the limits when they get up front and old habits can be difficult to shake - - however, this does not make the way the drivers were starting the event correct.  Again, the speedway is reviewing the starts and restarts from the previous event to determine the most effective way to enforce correct starting procedures even when visiting cars are present and also finding ways to better communicate with race teams during the event itself.

- Regarding the designation of ‘accident cars’: determining who and who is not an accident car and sending them to the back can be difficult at times, particularly when there is a large number of vehicles involved in an incident.  The incident in question is being reviewed along with determining some updated best-practices for aiding officials in making this type of call.

During the off-season there was a staff shuffling - - a number of staff members have risen to the occasion with new roles and in some cases there are new staff members completely.  I can assure you that all of these staff members are performing their duties to the best of their ability are aware of the challenges faced during the previous event, as well as the importance of accurate and consistent officiating.

Shadowracer is correct, speedway officials are not able to participate in these online discussions so I'll add on their behalf: these staff members take great pride in their work, do not play favourites, and strive for the highest standard possible.

In line with the above, the speedway and its staff will be working together to review and correct the challenges from the previous event.

Thanx for your input John. You have no obligation to come on here and explain but it is much appreciated.

I say move the restart line even farther into the front straight. Then there will be no confusion at all. Either that or have the pace truck pull off on the back stretch and start them going into 3. It seems they want to start there anyways.

OT but with the new lane in 3 and 4 it would seem like a good thing to move the start / finish line closer to 1 also.
