I have discussed several different i deas with the track and they always want firm numbers on how many will attend. They aren't going to open the track for three guys. I mean we could rent the track but that's not racing is it? We need some sort of idea of how many teams would like to run

I would be willing to put forth some time and help out - this sounds like a great idea and something that not really any track around here has done. I think you need to come up with the proposal first and for most. So put some concrete rules in place and take it to th drivers for interest. Once you have the numbers of actual interested people, take that information and propse it, talk to potential sponsors and than work out the dates and the other details and start advertising. I know a lot of people who aren't on this site but are big in the racing community... venture out and if you are really interested in getting this going - let's get it going!

why not hold a meeting with  anyone who is interested?to come and discuss rules format and numbers get drivers there saying yes

Ok fellow race Junkies looks like we have peaked the interest of the powers that be up in the ivory tower of power!!! They like our thread and want to see the idea progress to the next step. It will however not be 24 or even 12 but it will still have some length to it. The rules for the cars are going to be Chaos Cars style so read that and you'll see where it's going. Now that being said it's time to fill John's email in box with all kinds of inquiries!!!
