I don't really think there's going to be any way to get around it, even if all they're going to do is weekly divisions plus local touring. There's been more and more cases of cars flipping over and climbing the walls over the past few seasons, and while the increases in speed have something to do with it. the design of the walls make it happen. They should be perpendicular to the racing surface to stop guys from getting over. Also, even if you're not having live pitstops during the weekly events, most people can see the concrete coming up on pit road, and it looks like crap. I can understand it not mattering in one sense, but on the other hand, the pop companies had it right when they said image is everything...

I had a wreck in 2006 that if those walls were perpendicular to the racing surface I wouldn't have been getting out of the car under my own power, with the walls how they are I hopped in another car and raced that night. Somehow I'm not remembering all of these cars flipping, I only remember Booky flipping this year, and that's enduro, we needed some entertainment LOL. I've hit both style walls, I kind of like how they are now.
Steve Book - enduro
#02 - enduro
Kirk Hooker - LM
#98 modified
Jesse Kennedy - labour day race last year
I also remember another enduro car getting flipped on the backstretch earlier this season as well. There's been more and more cars getting airborne over the past 2 seasons. Frankly I can't remember any getting airborne or up on the wall prior to that, at least during the weekly shows. In some cases it's unavoidable, but really, 5/6 within 2 seasons isn't right...
Are you talking flips ( upside down on your lid ) or riding the wall. Hooker, Kennedy, Cox or the 98 mod never ended up on their lid. All of those wrecks would have been much worse if they bounced off and slid back into traffic. Timmermins ( spelling ) rolled it over when he caught the gap in the front stretch a few years back. But the thats the last roll over, other than Enduros I remember recently.
I agree with SS33 I'd rather hit a beveled wall that a flat one sometimes. It all depends on the angle you try to knock it down. The problem with the wall at DS is the big difference between the sections. Walk the track sometime if you get a chance. Some areas of the wall are pretty uneven, this is the problem I see ( erosion on the front stretch is causing the wall to become pretty uneven ). I dont know if you could name a track where you would perfer to hit the wall.
yep Jay.....i still remember that ride...hitting the wall in air at the flagstand, flipping, sliding upsidedown backwards into turn one wall hard...still can hear the noise of it all..what an $$$ ride!!!..lol...Dale
