Yes, apparently that is possible! The summer has been so warm and the lakes are so warm as a result that with this cold snap, and the wind we will be experiencing lake effect rainfall...

This means that the traditional snow-belt areas will be the hardest hit rain-wise and the further in land from the water the better...

It looks right now that the NAM is forecasting a larger area of precipitation basically covering all of southern and central ontario, whereas the GFS has the Huron Coast and the muskoka/grey bruce regions being the most affected.

This is a tricky call as well see in the winter with Lake Effect snow, we get 20 cm's fore-casted and we get a dusting because the winds change..this can also happen in this case...the showers will be spotty and isolated, but i suspect all tracks are going to at least see a few drops at some point in the day.

The tracks most likely to get their racing in: Mosport and Peterborough.

Interesting. Thanks for the weather report, Thayne. It'll be interesting to see how racing goes and what days we get left without rain.

I just had a peak at the models...ike lake effect snow its so hard to judge! It all depends on winds....as of this morning the winds have shifted to the positive...especially for sunset....

The NAM has barrie and sunset staying dry, but barely...the GFS has the rain way off to the north....

Unfortunately for Sauble...they are thoroughly screwed...

Varney looks like it will get pured on, Flammy is kind of in our situation as well...

Just remember..Lake Effect is super tricky....lets hope it stays to the north and to the west...
