It's been announced that Ryan Coniam has been hired by Bill Davis Racing to be Jacques Villeneuve's engineer. He had been working for DEI. I wondered what happened to Ryan. I didn't realize that he wasn't racing.

REVISED ...

Nothing against Ryan or Bill Davis Or Jacques... but Ryan has no idea what Jacques would need in a car, Davis has no idea that Jacques has never ben around a Stock Car, and Jacuqes is going to need all the help he can get without having seat time. If this is true... Jacques- dont unpack your suitcase, Davis needs to get a hold of himself on Racing and Bussiness, and Ryan- call home and get your butt back into a Sprint Car,its a safer bet then this deal.

Building a new team is hard...building a new driver is hard...building a new Tech. Engineer is hard...
Dont try and do it all at once because you will fail and all of you will look like fool's !!!

He's been working for DEI, according to the story in the Toronto Star...

the piece re Coniam must have been written by a Champ Car-Open Wheel person. By Engineer, do they mean "crew chief"? Engineer seems to be an IRL-Champ car term. And Ryan's limited participation in WOO never made him a WOO star, although he did have limited success in the lower rung Alstar Circuit of Champions.
I have mixed feelings about Jacques. He does own the Newtown Restaurant in Montreal, but he really is a resident of Monaco (and I wonder if that is what his citizenship actually is?)

all Jacques is doing now i believe is testing. He just got the go ahead from Nascar to start testing. When is he suppose to actually race? I think Nascar has to entertain that question after seeing how he performs out on an oval track in a stock car! would be nice to see him in cup though. I think the indy world is going downhill and everybody seems to finally be realizing that Nascar is the way to go!
