How do you feel how they set the field for the chase?
I think they should have kept it the way it was the year before and give 10 points for each win.
They never gave something to the drivers that were consistant.
i think it's a big joke! The champion should be crowned from the whole year and not just the final 10 races. Or at least give a bonus to the guy who has the most points after race 26. The chase format sucks and the guys who are not in the chase don't get as much coverage for thei sponsors and this is bad for business. How can a team that is under funded ever get properly recognized this way? it's terrible and it's a shame that Nascar has chosen to do a chase in the first place! The points system wasn't broken so why did they fix it? just because one guy had a massive points lead. but guess what? he earned it!
IMO, racing was never intended to have a 'playoff' round! As much as I like Little E, it seems a little ridiculous that the already ridiculous "Chase" setup was revised to include an additional 2 drivers this year, in the hopes that Dale would make it in. On the other hand, if they continue to increase the "Chase" by 2 drivers every year..... in 17 years, we will be right back where we started when Nextel took over! LOL

the chase comes down to $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. the TV revenue that nascar draws is huge so much so that they could run the race in front of empty stands an still make money right now. to draw the TV numbers the feeling seems to be you need more drama than just race. thus the chase,right or wrong .
I don't like it one bit how can you compare the championships of the past. I really hate how NASCAR and announcers refer to past champions as past Nextel Cup champions. No they were Winston Cup Champions.
You can really say Jeff Gordon was most likely robbed of his 5th Championship. How can someone have a 300+ lead and start the Second in the Chase.
Yes there are 31 other cars in the series. If you want to have a playoff in NASCAR put the 12 cars for the last 10 races on the track by themself that is a playoff.
It is going to happen in a race that a non chase driver punts a Chase driver to help a team mate. So NASCAR has warned them. What are they going to do when this happens? let the driver in the chase bring a back up car back on the track??? Nope the ower gets finesdand the driver gets fined but the chase driver and team our screwed.
If they wanted to fix it they should have gave bonus points for the win or even add half way leader points or extra points for the pole award.
It gets so hard to watch the race as you are trying to figure out two races in one. Just my opinion
