Fools rush in - here's my 2 cents

Drag racers ARE racers. It takes great courage and reactions to drive a top fuel or funny car. They are very dangerous. Ask John Force. Shirley Muldowney was a very good drag racer. The fact that she had good equipment doesn't take away from that. There have been other good women drag racers.

Women should have the chance to compete in stock racing as well. If they have the skills, great. There have been some women who have had some success at the lower levels of oval racing. Kelly Williams is one. I too used to enjoy watching Sharon Zardo. I can't think of any who have advanced to achieve success at the higher levels of the sport. The only one who comes immediately to mind who has been competitive at a high level over a sustained period is Danica Patrick (the best looking 12 year boy that I've seen).
It's not a matter of allowing women to race. It's a question of capability. Men are bigger, stronger, quicker and more competitive. Qualities that are needed to race at the highest levels. I enjoy watching women's hockey but the fact is that a top women's team is at the same level as a midget boys team.
