Every spectator on the pit side of the track could clearly see a Walts crew member spray water into the radiator on pit road and one of the guys, I assume one of his own crew, approached the car to shake a hand.  I guess rules say you can't touch the car prior to tech but I'm of the opinion that spraying water on pit road is better than doing it on the front straight before the next race and besides, how many cars are intercepted by their crews on the way back to the tech shed each and every night, to say nothing of the wet T-shirt party all the cars have by stopping off at the water tap.

Perhaps of course the other guys are really thinking that Walt was handed a 50lb lead bar or perhaps the cheater transmission/rearend was swapped out for a stocker right there on the pit road in that 30 second period, in front of the crowd  hahahaha.

It was an extraordinary move by the track for sure, One I've never seen before and somebody was sure upset about something because the mood of the track was unnecessarily agitated to the point of rudeness.

truth be told the 10 car was originally impounded for reasons unexplained at the time pending further tech.after further tech the car was inspected and nothing was found to be illegal at which point the car would be deemed disqualified from saturdays race for entering pit road after the finish of the feature what has become of having a fast car and winning races .the car entered pit road in front of fans and track officials to spray the radiator down to cool off the engine the same thing many vechicles do just this time it wasnt in the dark down the back of turn 1 and 2 .somebody is grasping at straws on this one .go get them RICK WALT show them u will get the lead back and take no prisoners as for the president of nascar if he was right there watching he would know nothing was done illegal or wrong

Mike is right.
So to formally add closure to this, our Thundercar is 100% legal in every way. The car was inspected inside outside and every other way you can imagine, they even had the tires off the rims.

The decision was to DQ the car last Saturday because we came down the pit road to squirt water on the rad (as the motor had gotten way too Hot during that extended cleanup following the incident a few laps from the final flag).  Our video camera was also seized and the footage viewed to confirm.

We didn't break any rules deliberately, having seen this happen with others before we never gave it pause for thought.

So anyway it'll be business as normal this Saturday.

Congrats to Desi for snatching the win and to Pete in the #72 for running so strongly.
