I sat in through a Sunset meeting years ago and they had voted on the use of spring rubbers and were allowed. Would save on having out of control cars on the track.
i would like to see them change the rule of tires sticking out to be grounds for a DQ. In the past they have said they were policing this and that they were telling drivers to fix this. But it seems there are still cars out there that have wheels sticking out. This could be a safety issue because it can cut somebody's tire down much easier or it can send somebody into the air which could be dangerous as well... I would also like to see them allow left side camber on the front wheel. It's hard to make a car turn when the left front is straight up and down! makes no sense to allow the right front camber and not the left! they go hand in hand to help the car corner. Helping cars corner may mean less accidents because there will be less ill handling cars on the race track! just a couple more of my suggestions.
I remember Brad Richmond saying in the drivers meeting over a month ago that this was the last warning for the tires sticking out too far it was for safety reasons. And yet the 16 went right in and out of tech Sat. night and they were looking at the speed rating on the tires (looking right at the tires sticking out). Guess the warning meant nothing. His tires stick at least two inches outside of the fender wells.
well then maybe somebody should protest one of those cars that the tires are sticking out on! see what they do then..
Shouldn't have to protest it. Its in plane sight specially when you are looking right at the tires. There have been enough warnings over it.
