as for the fans, it ahs been that packed virtually every night, so last ngiht was nothing new.
Interesting, because I was talking to some people that are regulars and they said they haven't seen that many people in the place since the portable grandstands were brought in for CASCAR.
One thing that is interesting though, is that the tracks in this area (Barrie, Sunset) have seen a sizable increase in fans this year (personal experience plus talking to fans at the tracks). Any idea why that is? Is it possible that the fans that may have stopped coming to watch the NASCAR Saturday night shows on TV are starting to come back?
marcisfan barrie has been very busy this year , the week before this race it was standing room only, think you have a good point about people leaving the tv at home and coming back. racing seems to be growing again at a great rate and the tv coverage of Nascar, these new reality shows that put stars in race cars, the reality race series, I think it all influences people . Look at what the custom bike shows did for that industry, look at what Barret Jackson did for the collector car market, maybe thats what happening to racing..hope so make it easier for racers to get sponsors..
The Barrie weekly show is a better show than Oscaar, it was good to see the Watson's both do well and the crowd is big at Barrie every week,l also heard Fletcher was underweight , too low and the spoiler was illegal, but "thats the way its been for years and l aint changing it".I feel bad for the officials they work hard for the club .
I was behind the 61 in tech, and I don't remember any issues - I'm sure we would have heard a little screaming and yelling. If you guys here say its so, maybe I'll make a trip to Milton to pick up the trophy.
I think most were pretty happy with the race although quite a few cautions - a little carnage should be expected at a track that small. We were turning laps close to the 13 second mark so craps gonna happen.
Great crowd on hand considering the Pure Stock division was the only regular cars there - I think anyway!
the pure stocks put on an awsome show, green to checker 25 laps in 11 minutes, wow thats racing
yea, none of us wanted to smash nething up so we just stayed out of each others way. My car got banged up anyways when Tim watson plowed into me going to the tech shead. Knocked my tow way outta whack and now i have somehting grinding, wouldn;t ahve been a big deal if he woulda apologized, but i guesse when your all that, you don;t care about the little people that wrk till 2 am the night before to have their car ready to race that night. Rather rude of him I think. consideration for others will take you a long way. Ken Mackinnon construction will never get ANY job I will ever need done and they will never again be recommended by me.
