I like ACT as well....but man...these lil go-karts are terrible....ppl that usuaklly come with me stayed home because they didn't want to see them.....but meh...they ran decent last night i spose....

There is nothing "go-kart" about them.  If you would've come over and taken a look, you'd see that they're a real, purpose built race car.  Full race suspension, quick-change rear end, great brakes, etc.  Does your race car have any of that?  Next you're going to say that full-sized Sprint cars and Super Modifieds are go-karts too, because they're pretty much the exact same, just bigger.

Not to mention some of the newer cars have all kinds of in-car suspension adjustments. They are almost scary fast to watch and much louder than I remember from the last time I saw them at Sunset in 2004.

Corey: How does Barrie compare running at speed in the midgets compared to the mini-trucks? I would think that the track going by that fast would almost make it seem like a different place.

Don't put words in my mouth, when ppl say they dislike the 4 cyl shows i dont blame em...we cant run 5 laps without someone taking someone out...it is all in taste...go karts was in reference to their size and my enjoyment...I dislike all those types of series...too much roome on the track er something...i unno...

I woulda come over but I had my werk cut out for me after spinning by myself in practise and nailing the wall, then trying to piece any ounce of ability i had left back together....plus it was a long walk......

Just like every track that we have raced the mini truck and the midget at, it takes some time to figure out the fastest line.  The mini truck 'momentum' line doesn't really work the best for the midget.  I found that with the midget, we would pinch it down a lot lower in 1&2, but the line in 3&4 is quite similar.  My car seemed to work best when I would just ease it into the corners, especially turn 3, and get on the throttle as soon as the car settled.  I almost nudged the inside wall coming off of turn 4 a few times.  Seems to add a few more pulses to the heart rate.  Unfortunately yesterday, I had to start at the back of every race, and really try to keep my nose clean.  So I couldn't really push it the way I normally like to.

When I race the midget at Grand Bend, I also drive the track's 'house truck'.  So when I do that, I feel like it would probably be comparable to racing at a super speedway when I'm driving the mini truck, then racing at a short track a few minutes later when I jump into the midget.

Sorry Thayne, gotta agree with Moesker on this topic and blackflag.....gimme a choice between TQ's and 4 bangers? Im gonna go with TQ's......hell, gimme the choice between thunders and TQ's even though I race thunders and I still probably would take the TQ's although it would be a very tough choice between the 2. Just look at the guys out there in these bullets......approximately what? 6ft-7ft long, 13sec laps, inches from the wall, gotta have some pretty big luggage between yer legs to jump in one of those!! Or just be plain retarded, either way, I have always enjoyed them, and i may be biased on this but the whole club was always great to us when we owned the Sunset, Ken Lorenz really knew how to keep everything in tact with them. But gimme one oppourtunity to wheel one, Id do it in a second!!
