I removed the topic of profit or loss as it really something you should talk to the track about and really doesn't fit a topic here as it's addressed to them and we are not affilated with them.
I hope people can understand my decission to remove this topic.
+1
You surprise me Evan...
The topic was not out of line, if anything, it starts the discussion that helps support why tracks have to operate the way they do. It may not be a FUN discussion, but it's an exercise in math, finance and business that racers should take into account before they start bashing in how a track is managed and operated.
It's not like it's classified information, nor is it bad for people to attempt to understand the costs of running a race track are. It's one thing to take down a topic or discussion because it's defamatory to a person or stating falsehoods, that's always a good policy. But I didn't see anything in his posts that said anything of that nature - other than to post what he believed was potentially a financial unfolding of what's looming at Barrie Speedway.
If you want some really scary financial news, just open up the Wall Street Journal or The Globe and Mail and see how they report financial ruin potential at any company around the world.
Wesley_Motorsports when I say it's removed it means moved of this board and into the mods only section.
See the issue you run into is that facts & numbers are not 100% and this could hurt them as the only one that knows the true financial for a track would be the owners and the accountants.
This is the way I looked at it over the days. I posted I would hope he emailed this to them.
The post was directed to them as the topic started: Dear Barrie Speedway. We are not Barrie Speedway so why is it being posted here? The poster is assuming they read these forums. Who knows if they are.
People begin to think the track is in trouble without knowing the true numbers and this is not fair to the track and it's owners. If the member had proof and could back his numbers and totals that would be a different thing.
It would be like a member post topic: CRO runs at a profit.
The posted numbers that seem logical. They see ads all over the site. You could do numbers and say they get 2.8+ million hits a months and ads are shown on each page and come up with a rate the ads are worth.
But the person would be wrong as some ads on CRO are free ad trades with other sites, some are based on impressions and clicks and some are paid.
I'm the only one that knows the true numbers of the site. How could this affect the site people could say why should we donate to this site as they are making money and this would hurt the site because we are not running the site at a proffit and I pay for it out of my own pocket and time.
Hope this helps members understand why I moved it.
Thanks
That sucks... I didnt get to read any of that!!!!
Facts and numbers are rarely 100% on this site.... remove em all, I say.
Evan there are alot of topics and statements on here that effect perception of a said race track. It is what it is. The site has been running flawlessly lately IMO. Then you come in and pull this censorship BS..... again my opinion. ( your not PMSing r ya?? ) I personally think locking threads may be acceptable, but to completly remove one somehow seems wrong to me. I know I would be pissed if I started it.
Wesley Motorsports obviously read the posts and doesnt seem to think there was a problem with them, Im wondering if you were contacted by barrie and asked to remove it. If this was the case why not just say that.
