Isn't it pretty much common practice in SW Ontario to play both? They have at Delaware since I was a kid. Recent years they've gone towards having someone sing it live most nights. Every once in a while you get one of those singers that has this annoying need to "make it their own"....but for the most part they're all pretty good.
Heck, last couple of years a lot of folks on the hill have started singing along, which used to be unheard of.
Regardless, sounds like Barrie's adressed the flag issue. Good show.
I agree we should have the anthem be played, but I think more to the point we should have a military appreciation night. Not sue what could be organized, but I don't think it would take a whole heck of a lot.
Oh Bullshit Ryan! Having a military appreciation night does not mean the track and or fans support the war in Afghanistan! That sounds like something Jack Layton would say. All it means is we support the men and women doing a job that most people in this country will not do. This is not a political debate, save that for the election booth and not racetracks. I also believe we all should support our troops whether you believe in the war or not. You know a military night is not just about current wars but also wars past, this country has lost many sons and daughters over our history and they deserve our respect and appreciation for our freedoms we have today and in the future. +1000 Scott!
Right on Scott and Ryan, before you spout off your mouth...
As a father of a military son, that has served OUR country in a time of WAR, over in Afganistan to protect your freedom. Yes even your freedom to spout off your big mouth.
Perhaps you should educate yourself (not through the media) about what is going on overr there. The media wont tell us of the positives that are taken place as that news doesnt sell papers, however, bad news does. You obviously only read the paper, to form your thought process.
Its ok for you to act and speak this way, i know how my son (and other military sons and daughters) feel, when they read your garbage...they protect all Canadians, yes even the jerks!
So, if you need to bash this, easl dont come if they have a "Support our Troops" night.
I will be there flying a big 3RCR Flag.
General T. told us once in a conference call when my son got shot, "dont believe a Damm thing the paper says, its only good to wipe your a--."
OR...Strap on a weapon and go over and be apart of the solution...instead of being a armchair donut eating mouthpiece.
