The varney invitationals are usually always open invitationals,with home track rules.Last year there were cars from sauble,flamboro,barrie(including next gen thunders) and sunset.
Track size is a short quarter mile.
As for what gear to run,I am not sure but here is one example that a thunder car is using:
350 trans/2.92 final drive/85"rollout on rear tires/turning 5800-6000 rpm.
Maybe black magic could chime in for the limited late models or mods.
