Chris, I like built, but that's because I can build a decent engine for just a little more than a crate. Some people don't have the access to resources that I have, not trying to brag but it is what it is. And you have to admit that the crate that we are offered is not up to the challenge, they don't like to turn more than 6500 and anyone who runs a 4.10 know we spin em way higher than that.

ya I know that the gm crate does not hang on with the built one but if they only would make a rule that if you run a nxt gen than you run the crate. If you run the old thunder than you run the built. I thinks that it would make the class more even and you would not geet cars like the 00 nxt gen with a crate (from what I'm told). Then the diffrance between the cars would be more on skill not on power to weight.

My feeling is this... A guy who is starting out is going to buy an used chassis, which will probably be an "antique gen". The guys who have been running for a year or two are going to run new gen, built for them, or by them. There are certain advantages to running new gen, if you make the new gens run crate, you will stop the flow of new gen cars and everyone will go back to the old bodystyles. I may be wrong but this is how I see it.

Ya I can see what you are saying. Than how do you say we make it fare for every driver to have that chance to taste a checkerd flag. I would like to see both cars run in the same class but we should all have the chance to win. I have my car running the crate because thats what I had bought for me, from a sponser, and we all know that it does not hold on with certian built and crate thunder cars.
