Went out to Barrie practice this afternoon and just thought I'd report some brief info and couple tidbits on who was or wasnt there..
Late Models - 10 Shepherd
2 Brown
54 Bull
Had these guys running 15.1s on a green race track (well the 10 & 2 anyways) dont think the 54 was quite up to speed by the time I left..
Thunders - 12 Belesky, 55 Goggins, 10 Walt, 21 Walt, 01 Tremblay, 52 Callow, and 38 Melson..
I had the 10 the quickest in practice running some 15.7s.. I think Rick could prove a real title contender before the season is up.. Defending champ Belesky was in the 15.8 and 9 range according to my watch and bad reflexes!! ;D Great looking new ride for Callow, who was off the pace but should have the ship righted in the first couple weeks.. Bill Walt took a spin in daughter Desi's new machine and didnt look out a bit of place in the 16.2-16.3 range.. Guess I should also mention the 38 car of Melson was just out for a bit of fun and apparently isnt racing this season with the car still for sale..
Bout 8-9 Pure Stocks out as well, and my apologies to those guys but didnt really get any names other than 88 Mitchell, 09 Curry, 76 Burney, and Adam Misener in his new 240 that I knew from last season.. Me thinks the rest were rookies, one in the former VW Golf of Tom Milligan (nice looking car).. Did also see the 32 of Romano at the pit gate as we were leaving.. Well there you have it..
Yes my Dad and my brother went to the track because there was supposed to be a swap meet in hopes of finding someone who might be interested in buying his car, as well as practice, He is open to all offers, it's a good car it corners great, Jay was timming my Dad and the car was lose and running 15'8's and 9's so it's still pretty fast, Then jay took it for a spin his first time in it did ok didnt push as he couldnt afford to pay for it if he made any mistakes, but he did have a blast behind the wheel, so anyone looking for a car dont be shy make my Dad an offer and you could possibly be racing opening night.
Beleskey, Walt, Goggins, the fast three, great turn out. The staff and owners of the speedway were great.Things are taking shape. Great job BSW.
interesting that bull was there.......... 🙂
Was hoping to get out to watch some practice but I couldn't. Anyone see my old car I know Pete was bringing it down on Saturday just curious on how he did with it. Thanks Chris
