Well as of nearly 10am on South End of Barrie it looks to be clearing a little, but still overcast. Now by 7pm this could totally change, but I'm heading out regardless. Just wanted to remind the fans to dress warm in layered clothing as its easier to take things off if hot then to freeze. Heated greandstands or not I'm still expecting it to be a cool evening. Also a good idea to bring some type of seat cushion to avoid the wet bleachers!!!
c ya'll there!
has anybody heard anything from any of the staff at the track regarding whether they are going to hold it off or make a decison by a certain time so people don't travel long distance for a rain out
As of 1 pm its raining pretty hard in south end of Barrie!!! Will see whats its doing by 3 or 4 this afternoon but I'd be almost willing to proclaim save your gas it looks like a wash out!!! 75 percent chance of rain in the evening as well according to the weather network!! The Cup race is starting to look like a better option. Its dry in the house!!!LOL The season opener seems to be jinxed!!LOL I remember 2005 when the first two weeks were washed out what a bummer that was. But then the season was starting end of April as well so I think thats why they moved it to May last year!! And look what we got!! You have to realistically figure how many fans will show up?? I think that they will make some sort of decision by 3pm when the pit gate was slated to open and post it on the internet but thats just my best guess!!! We will see soon.
barrie speedway is rained out for opening night
