I dont think with the LLM that were at Barrie this year, it should be sneezed at by anyone.  As a group they would be as strong if not stronger than any field of LLM in the province, so congrats to Gord,  he ran well all year,  and it went down to the last night like it always does to see who wins it.  The other fields were a little weak this year, but there were still good cars, and the Barrie thunders sure kick ass when they head down the highway, even with over half the field down there being former Barrie cars.  Hoping management can get there act together ( like sell the track ) and get on with the program and bring Barrie back to what it was before they took over 2 years ago.

Kahnefreak. Why come on here and bash the owners of the track??? Sure things went rough this year with all the rain that we had, but why is that the owners fault??? You know I ran there all season and really can't complain about much, but that's just me. I may not have seen all the silly shit that took place but what did Jim Payetta really do to run the track into the ground?? I was planning on going to Sunset next year but I really want to see what Barrie has to offer for next year then I will make up my mind on where to run. Anyways how many owners do you know that take money out of their own pockets to top up the payouts to the drivers at the banquet?? I can tell you Jim did. Just my thoughts not trying to push buttons here we all see things in our own way. ;D ;D

Barrie will be fine, the only late model move might be Baker to Oscar. Thunder cars come and go same with the 4cyl its all the usual b/s last year everyone said Sunset was finished now it's the place to be, a lot of people left cause they could not compete with Doucette and St.Onge maybe they will come back, who knows Barrie will be fine and the Thunder car racing will be far better to watch with a more even playing. St.Onge and Doucette were in a league of their own.

Ok time for the 20 minute rundown.. Sorry for being a day late and dollar short this week, but it was a busy weekend for me.

Very interesting night to say the least, nice to see such a great crowd on hand for Championship Night though, as there wasnt many empty seats even with the added grandstands from the NCATS race the week before still in place.

50 Lap LLM season ending race was won by #57 Ron Quesnelle for his 3rd feature win of the season. Quesnelle would survive a thrilling late race duel with the 69 of Inglis after that duo had worked past early race leader #2 "Hometown" Mike Brown around lap 20. Inglis, would lose 2nd place to Gordie Shepherd on the very last lap racing into turn 3. Great late race battle between Brown and 2008 track champ #19 Keith McLeod over the late stages with that duo exchanging the 4th place position on sucessive laps. Mike got past Keith when the 19 drifted high in corner 2, but then Keith found the horsepower to manuever past Brown in the late going. So as a recap 1st to Quesnelle, 2nd Shepherd, 3rd Inglis, 4th McLeod. and 5th to Brown

Is 25 lapper was a relatively clean race and was won by the 69 of Inglis. Allan once again had to fend off an early challenge of the 57 of Quesnelle, with that duo running the first several laps door handle to door handle to start the race. Quesnelle seemed to be losing steam running the outer groove and was in turn passed by the 88 of Mathews and the 48 of Baker. Could of seen the "big one" in this race as McLeod ran into the back of Brown between 3&4 with the entire field (save for the top 3) scrambling to avoid Brown's #2 that ended up facing the wrong way on the track. Great job by all involved checking up in time as everyone was able to continue with no real damage sustained. Just past midway the 88 of Mathews began to really pressure Inglis for the lead when contact was made between the pair down the backstretch, with Inglis maintaining the lead while Mathews lost a few spots while trying to straighten it out. This turn of events would move Baker to 2nd and Shepherd to 3rd. Gordie would slip past Dwayne in the late going for the runner up post and really closed in on Inglis at the front of the field but was unable to get around at the checkered, as Inglis took the win by a scant car length. Baker would finish a solid 3rd, after waging a good, clean battle with the 28 of Jongen who finished fourth. #6 Keith Maiato would charge from the rear of the field to round out the fast 5, in what was a very good run for him.

Earlier heat wins went to Ron Quesnelle and Al Inglis.

In Thunder Car #22 Jason Elliott clearly looked to have the car to beat as he charged into the lead on lap 2, getting past pole sitter #21 Luke Gignac. #9 Chris Burrage would also dispose of Gignac one lap later to take over 2nd. This race saw the first 31 laps go caution free, with Elliott building up a full straightaway lead over the 00 of St.Onge who was now in 2nd after starting in 12th. Another front runner bowed out at lap 15, as #44 Dave "The Deuce" Doucette would retire to the infield with mechanical issues. After the lap 31 restart, St.Onge would power past Elliott after 3 solid laps of side by side action and the 2009 track champion would cruise to the win from there. Elliott capped off a stellar season with another 2nd place finish, while Burrage, #14 Thayne Hallyburton and #24 Leonard Johnston would round out the top 5.

Heat wins went to St.Onge, Hallyburton, Johnston, and Doucette.

Now onto the best race of the night and that was the Pure Stock feature!! The race went the first 21 laps without a caution, until the 2nd place car of Mike Burtoo spun in corner 2 on his own accord. This set up a duel between #16 Bryan Penny (who had taken the point just a few laps in) and the #88 of John "The Prodigy" Mitchell. On the restart, Mitchell powered around Penny on the outside and took control at the front. On the very last lap Mitchell really sailed it hard into corner 2 and narrowly missed hitting the wall and got partially crossways. A true show of class was exhibited by Penny who didnt force the issue when he well could of, allowing Mitchell to straighten it out and claim his first ever feature win. This was GREAT to see as this is one driver who I've personally been extoling the virtues of all season long and just how much he's improved since running a half year last season in the Charger division. Penny would have a splendid run in finishing 2nd, just narrowly missing his 1st feature win of the season himself. #37 Robbie Sikes would charge from 18th on the grid to finish 3rd, with #35 Nick French and #91 Kyle Lethbridge rounding out the top 5.

Heat wins went to French, Lethbridge, #79 Brandon Crumbie, and the 2 of the 2009 point champion Ben Melenhorst.

In closing congrats to all the 2009 champions you all had tremendously solid seasons and the battles and racing in the LLM was particularily exciting all season long. I cant remember a year in recent memory where the racing was that exciting in this division so thanks to all drivers in all classes for making the 2009 season one that wont be forgotten by me anytime soon.. THERE YOU HAVE IT...... FROM THE CHEAP SEATS.
