Well Charger it just goes to show that anything can happen on a full moon night !!
To make comment regarding the 16 car went into the 7 car on purpose is just ludicrous, especially watching the 16 car for a few years. To what I saw and remember everyone can watch the same race but have different opinions cause sometimes you wonder if everyone is watching the same race.
Of what I could see is that 16 car was in the lead and the 7 car was beside him (by the way that was some awesome racing between the 16 and 7 car) The 16 car coming out of 4th corner was just about to pass a lapped car which was 46, the 46 car did not move down so the 16 car would do what every other driver would do is pass the lapped car to not lose his lead position, as what I can see is that it was a RACING INCIDENT, unfortunately the 7 car was damaged but the driver it seems came out of it with no injury as he walked off the track and jumped into his thunder car for the next race….
and if I recall right this is what the drivers were told at the drivers meeting...
"When the leader comes to a lapped car, the lapped car is to move down so the leader and the rest of the pack can go by. But if the leader and 2nd place car are battling the 2nd place car is to back down and let the leader pass the lapped car. If the 2nd place car can't get by he is to back down"
Plus if the 16 car did go into the 7 car would there not be damage to the 16 car, there was absolutely no damage to the side of the vehicle at all (not even scratched), as he was still able to finish the race.
It’s unfortunate that the Rogers TV has disappeared at Barrie, cause then everyone would have seen the leader was the 16 car trying to pass the lapped car.

Someone actually made that statement at a drivers meeting and didn't get laughed out of the race track ? We will be at Barrie this weekend for the first time this year and that's one rule we wont pay any attention to because its insane .
I'm not taking sides here BUT,
The lapped car did move over for the leaders, Ian Burney is the cleanest driver out there. What do expect him to do? drive in the grass down the back stretch? And rub the inside wall through 3 and 4 like a zamboni?
Also, the nowhere in the drivers meeting have they said that if 2 lead lap cars came up on a lapped car, that the car on the outside must settle in behind the one on the inside. The comment was that if there were 2 LAPPED cars racing , the lapped car on the outside must settle in behind the one on the inside when a lead lap car approaches, totally different scenarios.
There is no rule about the proper way the leaders should pass a single lapped car, it only comments on how two lapped cars must behave, as stated above. And I agree, Burney would do everything in his power to allow the flow of the race to remain smooth and not hinder any of the lead cars' progress. See you guys on Saturday.
