very true tooner! maybe when a car gets DQ'd at an invitational and this becomes public, the tech guy should call the invitational track tech and get the details. That way our tech man has an idea of what to look for later on.
Hey, been trying to fill you guys in on what I knew, but couldn't get registered on the board here til today.
I was told directly by the tech official at Flamboro that the burrows were disqualified for off-set ground cams. According to the interview after the race, one of the Burrows said they only needed to weight 1500lbs.
I don't know if they got their cams from canadian chrome (or whatever the actual name is), but the cam I have which has been sitting on the shelf for 4 years now, makes a world of difference in that car.
If your tech official cares about cams, I will gladly donate a stock cam to him so he has specs to go by. I love the challenge of racing you guys from tracks with similar rules, but I hate losing money to people who cheat. I used to come up to Barrie for invitationals, now it's just a waste of time. Nowhere near as bad as sunset/kawartha and that being dominated by 16 valves. It's a shame to, I wanted to race on Barrie's new design. I still need a trophy from there. Only shot I had at one was '04 and I get spun by someone while passing him for the lead!
I know those 12-valve engines inside and out, including all specs and parts available. Any questions, just ask. I would even donate a complete engine, if I knew it would be put to good use by tech. I'm not in any way trying to bash the Burrows, it was fun racing the #64 in the heat. I am just hoping to encourage the tracks to be able to regulate the race cars so that invitationals will become fun again.

#15 ms Flamboro.
On the upside of things though, it was very nice to see some Barrie cars down at Flamboro finally. Thanks for coming out, quite enjoyed the racing.
yes kyler i remember that race...u were flying, and that barrie car turned right into you....unfortunately barrie doesnt have any invitationals...nice to see sunset will have one again this year, the most flammy cars except for yours and dave havent a chance, so many wont go.... there was someone a few years back wanting to start an invitational series, where the tracks exsiting invitationals would count as points, and he said had a sponsor interested in putting up 10 grand with 500 to win each race and 2500 to the champ and rest of money paid down the line plus what the tracks would pay for a regular invitational...but with all the different 4 cylinder rules between tracks he gave up on it...it was cool years ago heading to varney, barrie, sunset, flamboro and peterboro each sunday at seasons end catching minis, thunders and lms...i kno someone right now interested in putting up a grand to win for a mini race at flammy next year, he plans to take to casale at seasons end.
I'm sure our tech department would love to see and measure the stock Honda cam. If ya had a cylinder for them to look at that would be great to, stock of course.
