AHHHH Charlie you continue to amaze me bud!! I dont wish any ill will on Sunset what so ever.. In fact I think its healthy to have two strong tracks in the area.. Creates more interest in racing as a whole. Steve Slaughter Sr. is one of the biggest class acts I've met in racing, and he knows how to properly run things. Don't know Dilley quite as well, but he seems like hes got a good head on his shoulders and wouldnt question his racing accumen in the least. Now I did say that I wont be spending of my hard earned $$ at Sunset any time in the near future, and that is my own personal preference/choice. I just find the viewing angles there pretty bad (although maybe that grandstand in turn 3 might be different have never sat there) At Barrie you seem right up close and in eye level of the race action where Sunset is set in a "bowl" and the race action seems very slow there to me after being at Barrie. Add in the fact I dont enjoy watching a LLM race where the majority of the field have trouble breaking 16 second lap times and you pretty much know its gonna be one of two drivers (Morrow/Walters) that win the feature race. Thats why I wont be going there until the track at least gets repaved and back to the Sunset I attended weekly from 1969-2002.

And I'm not egotistical enough to think that anyone from Sunset gives a rat's ass whether I attend races there or not, and I could give that same rat's ass in return that I wont go watch racing there.. Point being you don't see me or another driver /fan from Barrie come on here on the Sunset section slagging their ownership/drivers to my knowledge. So maybe you should think twice and if you dont have valuble race related chatter to contribute about Barrie just stick to the Sunset side of things.. Doesnt sound like your making many friends amongst your Thunder Car peers and former friends..jmo of course..

I was reading your reply to Charlie and your dialogue and had to reply. You comment on the viewing angles pretty bad but from 69-2002 it was fine and they don't appear to be going fast compared to Barrie well sir I invite you down to my corner 3 local and believe me they are hauling the mail. Barrie does appear faster but to be honset I have been there for a number of races and there is virtually zero passing, fast yes! entertaining little IMO. My opinion the old layout was much better. The LLM division at Barrie is deeper but we are deeper than Walters and Morrow, Witty, Malcolm, Parsons, Poole, Cornelieus and Tiemersma certainly are chopped liver. You seem quite happy having Quesnelle and Maiato aded to your roster. As far as the track needed repaving that's a red herring but it will be repaired at the conclusion of the '09 season so I expect to see you at Sunset next year. We do give a rat's hiny we want everyone to see the show. I also think Charlie has been a great addition to our Thunder Car division no problems just good hard racing every week with few if any cautions , the best thunders in the Province for a weekly show. Dave i know you have the same passion as I do so I had to pipe in, I'd like to sit down one day over a couple of beers and talk racing.

Well sure WATTIE I'd be happy to chew the fat about racing anytime..Dont know where you live but I'm in the south end of Barrie and frequent Wickie's a fair bit!!LOL

I also have some old Barrie/Sunset photos from yesteryear you might be interested in seeing sometime. And I know there are great racers at Sunset in LLM outside of Morrow/Walters but they do seem to win the majority of the features down there..I think Witty has won twice, Parsons, Cornelius, and Poole once each since Tommy returned on June 30th 2007. I'd hazard a guess to say that Barrie has had twice that many feature winners over that same time frame.. Again not a slag just a comparison.. I know the Thunder field is deeper and produces some good racing at Sunset from what I've heard as well , but for me the most competitive field of Thunders is at Flammy.. Again just a comparison.. As far as the viewing angles go, your right it didnt seem to bother me much over the years I went to Sunset. I just find if you sit high there (which I like to do) in turns 1&4 its really hard to see the race action going into the other corner along the frontstretch.. Now Barrie might be the same, I've never really checked it out for a long period of time.. I do find your closer to the track and racing action at the Barrie tri oval, and I really enjoy that aspect.. I also think if you were at Barrie this year you'd find a ton of passing in all the divisions, and the racing has been super clean as well.. I liked the old Barrie layout as well, but this one is a much more technical track, as there's no two corners alike and that is very challenging for a driver.. Just ask Ron Quesnelle how long it took him to get corner 2 down pat at Barrie!!LOL  I might get down for the Sunset season ender, but for now first things first (WoO show at Oshweken tomorrow) hope the weather holds.. but if not they have Thurs to fall back on

Well I must admit, I have never seen a bigger pissing contest in my life!  Barrie is better...no Sunset is better!  Who cares!  It is amazing what a little bit of water from the sky can do.  Not only does it cancel racing, but it also paints a good picture of who Charlie7 really is!  Oh I am just kidding Charlie, relax.  I guess its all in good nature, we have pride in the tracks we race at and we want to see them prosper.

Charlie, if you would like to get that $100 to me and since Sunset finishes before BSW, you can drop it off on your way home from Sunset on Sat.  The 25L of fuel for your car was also from Peterborough.  Not sure what the price of Sunoco 94 was back in Oct of last year...something tells me you will know!  And no...don't be silly, I am not charging you interest!

Incase Barrie finishes early (I know you don't think thats possible) but just incase, you can forward a cheque by mail to me with the following address:

Stoyan Zutich
Box 43
Bracebridge, ON
P1L 1T5

Thank-you for choosing the Stoyan Zutich Finance Corp.  where our moto is, if you are a racecar driver or owner that needs money...please look elsewhere!
