unfortunately the being in canada thing has killed alot of opportunities for very talented drivers.........sad!
Very True Prince. Even with "Nascar" in Canada it hasn't done alot. The Canadian Tire Series hasnt really seen better days with poor race release times on TSN...I believe some of the races debuted on tv at midnight. You would even go as far to think as the Nascar Canada Access with out good friend Vic would show Canadian Talent and Canadian Racing but it really just pitches a different Nextel Cup driver each week and hocks there terrible merchandise.
Polishprince12 first you question my credibility in racing and I quesion yours and you get all pissy, what's with that? Also you say it's not that he is young but it's his brains and TALENT well then I could name 100's of drivers with brains and talent. It is that he is young with brains and talent that everybody is watching him, just remember I never said he didn't have brains or talent all I said was he did a fine job not a amazing job.How do you come to the conclusion I'm jealous?
Wouldn't the biggest problem for Brandon racing in NCATS be the fact he must be 18 to run in the series or is that not a rule here in Canada? Cause in my opinion running the OSCAAR series will not help develop his skills. I like the idea of doing more travelling with the ACT series as there are a number of good teams there that will help him learn patience.
I have to agree with slowel on this one. I agree that Brandon has loads of talent but his age is why we, yes ME INCLUDED, are touting him so highly. His age is the one thing he has over everyone he is racing against now and he is only going to get better. That is the edge he has. I saw him every night at Kawartha and a bit at Delaware and he did really turn my head after a shakey start. He was very patient but knew when to push to get to the front and is very smooth and consistant through the corners. But to be honest he hasn't really done as well as I had hoped in his OSCAAR outings but a bit more seat time should get him the experience he needs to run at the front. And in further defence on slowel let's review. He won a feature at Kawartha, not as many as McHattie or Jackson. He won the Sizzler series of which only a hand full of cars competed at all of the events. Jackson was his only competition and if not for a broken distributor he would have won it. And to boot, that car has the BEST of everything. All this being said the kid is still probably the best up and coming stock car driver in Canada other than Fitzpatrick. And I'm not trying to take anything away from the kid but I can see where slowel is coming from. It's like listening to Waltrip heap the praises of the COT. Lets see if he can win the Kawartha championship next season, and I think he has a shot, before we make him the next Gordon O'neill. I know, most of you are saying WHO ? It's an inside joke with the people who know me. ;D
