What I said was Darryl St Onge won some invitationals. I worked on the team, I know that, I'm proud of it. I also worked on Ken Denhollander's team. The #00 won the championship, and some invitationals, and the #3 car ran fifth all year until the last night when it was involved in someone else's wrecking and ended up 8th. Contrary to what Mr Holland Landing says about mid packer and who is the fast and who is not. I like Dave Doucette, I consider him a friend, but arguably, the fastest and best quit after winning the 2009 championship at Barrie IMO.

Yeah Barrie is home for me. Like I said 1980... a long time. Truth be told if I had my own car this year I'd go to Sunset, but that's me. I don't have a car (anymore or yet, how do you look at it?) and Kenny wants to run Barrie, so Barrie it is.

Actually 4 fast cars left over TWO years... #49 and #97 last year, #44 and #22 going there this year, and Darryl quit racing to be BSW RD... It's not as big a deal as some of you make it out to be, IMO. If SOME of you believe there will be 40 Thunder Cars on night 1 AND night 20, I'm sorry but I can't see it (go see Holland Landing for a thin cigarette). And you're always going to have movement year to year.

I wasn't referring to you as being a "Kool Aid drinking Fanboy", blindly sputtering things to support your favorite track, Mr. Holland Landing might be that. I respect your point of view as you have never given me any reason not to. I'm not a Sunset hater, I like both SS and BSW... but I believe that SOME of the Southern faithful have been waiting for this moment to stick it to the Barrie people... And that's not fair to the rest of us trying to make a show happen at Barrie and have to listen to the untrue PROPAGANDA. Hell I've done my best to support Sunset when I can outside of my BSW activities. I go on off nights, I go on rain outs, I go to Invitationals. I will not accept the title of Sunset - Hater.

I agree with you that it maybe wasn't right that Barrie drivers were bashing the track..... But their voices weren't being heard and they were angry and wanted to vent.... Maybe drivers and fans shouldn't be allowed in the same forum.... But then as fans we wouldn't want that, because I am sure we want to hear what the drivers have to say.
However, the fact that these drivers are going back to race at the track should tell us that maybe the track does have its good points along with the bad.
The best are leaving.... Who dictates that?  Every year is different, people have more money some years or have learned as this sport is a learning experience, and cars change every season.  The 2 top runners at Barrie last year have been driving for a long time and have learned on how to improve their car.  I can tell you that people who have previously been mentioned, have either had to rebuild there cars due to damage from last year, or have bought a new car.  I for one can't wait to see the racing competition this year.... Even those who have left for sunset have new cars or have done work to them and I can't wait to see them racing to.  But as a fan I will have to either go to invitationals or choose to visit one track one weekend and maybe the other the following.   🙂
When something new or renovated comes out, some of us rush to want to try it out, but it may not be quite what we are looking for.  As the grass is not always greener on the other side.  Everything has its good, and its bad.  So maybe some of us like to wait and see how things turn out instead of committing ourselves to certain things.

One last thing that I might mention is that there was a lot of curiosity about this new track down south, and management knowing this made anyone going to these driver meetings to find out the rules, register and pay there full memebership to attend.  This is very interesting, because that could mean that there are some people out there who were maybe curious and thinking about racing at sunset that registered and payed but may be running somewhere else.  Hmmm!!! 150 drivers registered at sunset???  I wonder how many drivers that are racing at Barrie this year, are actually registered at both tracks..... 🙂

Other then Wes and Ross I haven't had a beef with anyone on this site.  I'm just saying my opinion because I'd like to see both tracks get their !@#$ together.  In Barrie's case they way they treat their drivers would be a start, and hopefully you guys wouldn't have to come on here and bash the place you guys call "home".  I attend Barrie 2 or 3 times a year.  Usually when the LM's aren't running at Sunset.  I too have a history of Sunset being my "Home" as I grew up at the bottom of the 7th line.  I also swore as long as Wes ran the place I wouldn't go near it ever again.  As it turned out, the next year he was gone and the new crew came in.  Barrie was inches away from becoming my new home track.  There is a lot of things I can't stand about the place, from the seating (I personally like being up a little higher) to the garage over priced food.  However, I still like to go out when I can because I'd like to see more drivers then the "normal" Sat. night.  Which again is why I'll be going to Sunset all year.  Most fans believe that the best pool will be there this year.  This doesn't mean though that "holland" should be saying everyone at Barrie sucks, thats not fair at all!  It just means the "pool" will be bigger, deeper actually due to so many drivers come to check the place out.  Will Sunset have staying power?  I think so, but I know a lot will come and go, thats life!

Again, I want to see both tracks succeed, I can't emphazise that enough!

There isn't much I am not agreeing with in your last post.

So it seems the true "Barrie" and "Sunset" people aren't that far apart at all. There has been a lot of respect and co-operation in the past couple years and I would not want that to disappear. I never thought I was "above" anyone or that Barrie was "better" and I don't think that way now.
