If it's true that Dave Simpson is gone,  that is a big blow to the track.  He is the only one of the 3 that had any idea as to what was going on.  He was the go between the drivers/ race director  and staff and listened to all the problems and tried to solve them.  They better be starting to look for a whole lot of people as there are many holes to fill.  Hopefully the 2 remainders have already started this process.    I wouldn't expect to see anything about a driver's meeting to soon if this is the case. Maybe they need to put ads on the website like Sunset did, looking for new people to fill positions.

What the need is a race director and a promoter...that is the key i think.

I heard from a very reliable source that Dave Simpson is gone, so is Jim Payetta, and Howie Campbell is just managing it for Coles.

Dave Simpson was a very likable guy and will be missed if the rumors are true. I believe he tried very hard in a demanding situation with very little experience.

A quality promoter would be nice, someone who knows the business and has experience with racers and not just selling beer and hot dogs.

Maybe they should send some delegates to some of the more successful US short tracks like Thunder Road or Bowman - Gray and see what really works and stop worrying about selling beer. If the show sucks then you won't sell any beer and you might as well cover the whole place, flood it, freeze it, and bring back the Oro 77's  ;D
