i remember a few years ago that the thunders were famous for green to checkers 50 lappers. i would love to see enough cars to actually have to qualify for the "a" feature, that would be cool. i believe the cars break down alot in 50's due to the heat and extreme duties we put these stock parts through. for example, if we ran headers the cars could move the heat away from the engines more efficiently also running these damned automatic trannies, they just boil and the fluid has to go somewhere. when the cascar street stocks ran at barrie in the 90's, they ran manuals and we had none of this smoking and oiling of the track. but for some reason tracks around here like to go backward with rules and technology. sorry a little off topic just giving my opinion on the question asked.
the only thing original on beleskeys car is half the cage and half the frame. extreme makeover!
Yes 35 laps would be cool Dave. Even if the Blue Jay races aren't extra cash money deals more 50's would be cool. I won one of those extra cash giveaways, that was very nice.
Sunset is wider, trying to get more than 24 through 4 at Barrie might not work too good. Remember we should be putting on a good show and a crashfest is not a good show. Starts and restarts are the issue I would think.
I don't think we would be getting near a cap... but who knows? Some of our heats had 9 cars, but list #2 is almost always uneven with list #1. Always 12 cars in list #1 in the heats... So clearly we had 21 cars that night.
so did beleskey end up selling his car from last year?
no he kept it and cut it up, people think 3000 dollars is alot for a thunder, try and build one! either give it away(not) or use what you can and throw the rest away.
