So to my list we will add Kyle Holden and Jason Elliott. I didnt add Pistol Pete or Norm strictly based on number of races they ran last year although Pete's car was there a few more times with Lidstone driving it renumbered as 82. So if he returns as well in the former Richie Bosschaert Monte that will be a 3rd addition to the 24 to now make the field 27. And if FLY BY is right there might be a couple northern invaders coming from North Bay this could potentially bring the field close to 30 cars!!!! That would be something !!! The one thing I would like to see in the Thunder division is the # of extra distance features limited to just 2. ( The Mid Season and the Season champoinship). It just seems in years past, the times when the Thunders run the longer races they turn out to be wars of attrition to me for some reason where 20 plus cars start and only 10 - 12 end up running at the end with many blown motors and such!! Anyone know why this might be?? Do the Thunders tend to run hotter?? This would also bring more meaning to those particular races if they ran just the 2 50 lappers during the season.
not bashing, just saying...
that the problem is NOT getting alot of cars to be willing to run and register etc etc
the problem is getting them to all show up at the same time, when you're talking of having 30+ car fields
i dont have my records with me, but we had over 40 thunders compete at different times last season, just never at the same time
I like the idea of more 50 lappers... I ran 12th or something in the one I ran (the race when I thought I was getting the black and it was for the #42). Dave Melson ran the other one, I think he got an 11th. Wasn't there more than two?
I had problems with overheating all year. I'm hoping those issues may be solved. My overheating was under caution or red flag conditions. I don't know if there seems to be more carnage in the longer runs, it appears to be that way Dave, but I wouldn't put it down to any one reason. More laps = more opportunity to get mixed up in something?
I think they have more extended LLM races than the TC, so it would be nice to have some more 50 lappers. But the show has to be in before midnight.
Spencer we had probably close to 30, if not more when you count guest drivers driving someone elses car.
You guys had 41 cars for Frosty and that was a great feat if you ask me. They may have had more at Peterborough for Autumn Colors but I wouldn't think many more than that.
Just to clarify, I dont think Steve Penny is going racing this year, and i say that as i work with him and he has no car or trailer yet, but if that changes ill let you know.
