IMO I think Barrie would be very smart in running fridays and heres why...they have a secondary venture that has events saturday nights and is drawing people away from that venue(colts games) If Barrie ran fridays they would also pick up cottagers heading up north moreso then they do now running saturdays as the cottagers have already gone by. The drivers who choose to race Barrie now can have a weekend or race both tracks or be a spectator.

IMO, saturdays are traditional race nights. fridays would flop for sure! there is enough cars out there for both if one of the tracks gets its shit together. 😉

I do not think it is much the night being the problem as it is other things people might be doing on the same night. You have to remember years ago the sport had more to itself than today in the way of entertainment.
Soccer for instance is much more popular and games can be any night and they do travel. Who would think years ago that poker, darts, and MMA would be on the tube in the way they are. Pool rooms and bars usually have lots of TV's Why ??? People are in touch with what else is going on at the time. Maybe a race track could have the instant replay screen work to some advantage maybe a screen or two of track coverage in the line up to the hot dog stand. Some tracks may get away with a one ticket 2 night same week set up spreading out classes and a way around rainouts ???? Maybe invite Tim Hortons there's always a line up . What ever it is all about the show that brings the crowd where are the rivalries and who is talking about them???

Barrie has a unique opportunity with the owners also owning the Barrie Colts..cross promotion and incentives...guest flagsman and entertainment opportunities could be used but arent. I mean why at the start or in middle could they not have a band or soloist singing or have more entertainment for children something different to draw people. Are Nascar rules so tight its not allowed?

Good points about having OTHER things for the fans...

Sunset has Spencer Lewis, he keeps the crowd entertained and is very informative, plus he give things aways all night, my little brother ALWAYS ends up getting a prize-pack from Spencer at Sunset.

Sauble and Peterborough were very good to, I watched the Stefko race in the main grandstand...2 man annonuncer team, funny jokes, music and sound effects to keep you feeling A PART of the program.

Yes, you need to offer MORE then just the race!!  Barrie did however have HOOTERS GIRLS A-PLUS  😉
