Good evening folks.. Not to beat a dead horse or anything, but a odd and now becoming rather disturbing trend continued at Barrie Speedway this evening.. As for the third week in succession, and 4th time this season #02 Shawn Murray of Alliston won the initial 30 lap feature for the Wahta Springs Late Models, while #10 Gord Shepherd of Oro Station took the 30 lap finale to the evening.. While I like both Shawn and Gord a whole bunch, but I almost find myself rooting for the rest of field just to have something different to write about next week ;D ;D.. Tough break of the night went to the 43 of Malcolm, who looked to have a decent lead over Inglis in feature #2 but then caught on fire after a fuel leak hit the brake calipers.. Then on restart Shepherd running third at the time of the caution, powered around Inglis after 2 or 3 laps of good door handle to door handle racing.. That"s all I can really say for now, but will provide a few results..

LLM Feature #1 -- 1st} #02 Shawn Murray, 2nd } #57 Ron Quesnelle, 3rd} 10 Gord Shepherd, 4th} 69 Al Inglis, 5th} 14 Thayne Hallyburton..

LLM Feature #2 -- 1st} Shepherd, 2nd} Inglis, 3rd} Murray, 4th} #24 Leonard Johnston, 5th} Hallyburton..

Thunders put on a pretty good show, and it was certainly a much cleaner and smoother feature than the week prior. #10 Rick Walt of Hawestone claimed his third feature win of the season and second in succession.. #00 Darryl St. Onge battled back from a late race crash last week to finish 2nd and maintain the point lead, while #44 Donny Brandon (driving Dave Doucette's car} came 3rd, with #12 Jim "Polish Prince" Belesky and #39 Travis Hallyburton rounding out the fast five..

Heat wins went to Walt with a pair, St. Onge, and Hallyburton..

The 4 cylinder feature was easily the best race of the night for the third or fourth time this season.. The top 3 of #11 Adam Misener, #10 Doug Butler, and #9 Charlie Smith, battled under a blanket for the last 7-8 laps and the 77 of Gettliffe and #400 of Holmes were having a good dice of their own for 4th not too far behind the lead trio.. The position changes in the top 5 throughout this one kept my head spinning and was kinda hard to keep track of with just a pen and paper.. πŸ˜‰ Misener, won for the second time this season then announced it would be his last race of the year in the #11 Nissan, with the ride apparently sold pitside and Misener left looking to join the Thunder ranks in 2014.. Provincial heavyweight Butler finished 2nd, with defending champ Smith 3rd, Gettliffe 4th, and #09 Dean Curry 5th.. Perhaps a co winner of the tough luck award could fall to the talented youngster Holmes who spun out of turn 4 while coming to the stripe.. That's totally all  I got for now.. Up early for a trip to Peterborough for The Chase!!! FROM THE CHEAP SEATS...... you know the insignia!!! πŸ˜‰

Four different heat winners were Smith, Gettliffe, Curry, and Holmes in the 4 cylinder class..
