Hey Dave; Maybe a home and home race challange on a sunday afternoon would go over pertty good about now.Make it a points affair for each home track, throw in a few sponsors wow what do you think.
that would be sick...26 LLM make the field, the rest go home...that'd be sick...
Well MIPRO I think thats a great idea if the tracks your talkin about is a Barrie vs Sauble series for the LLM and other classes or even Barrie vs Mosport would excite me!! I think this is the avenue I would persue if I was an owner at Barrie. Could you imagine that with Barrie"s strong sponsorship and Chisholm's ability to promote a race event!! The growth potential for that would be scary!! And I'm just sayin that from a personal fans perspective as I have never seen any of the Sauble LLM's race personally and see they have fine looking cars as Barrie does!! Have seen a few of the top Mosport guys race at Kawartha in the past and think there top runners could give our guys a great run for the money!! But the one thing I hear about Mosport's owner Bassett is that he loves to DQ out of towners so I wonder about that, but dont know him personally to say that is correct either!! But if you were referring to a two track promotion series between Barrie and drivers from " THE DUMP ON THE HUMP" in Innisfil that idea doesnt excite me at all, as there are only about 4 guys that run there worth watching to me in what would be the proposed feature class the LLM. For the record those 4 drivers are Walters, Morrow, Quesnelle, and Walt. As for the rest of the LLM guys there can you say FIELD FILLERS with 2 capital F's!!!!LOL The Thunders there are junkers no one there even would remotely merit me watching!!! The one kid there I am impressed with is the Melenhorst kid!! That kid has talent!!! See I do have the odd occasional good thing to say about " THE DUMP ON THE HUMP"!!!!!!LOL
The Melenhorst kid also has a car that starts with 140 HP b4 you even toucht he engine....
But the one thing I hear about Mosport's owner Bassett is that he loves to DQ out of towners so I wonder about that but dont know him personally to say that is correct either!!
Whoever gave you that information has misled you. Mosport is not a "run what you brung" track. Like any other race track, there is a rule book and it has to be followed in order to allow every racer an equal opportunity to compete on a level playing field. Why have a carburetor rule if you are going to allow racers to modify it over and above what is allowed in the rule book? If I drove through Barrie at 80 kph and was charged for speeding, would I say the police are picking on me because I am from out of town or is it because I was breaking the driving rules in barrie? I would have to think that any out of town car that is disqualified at Mosport or any other track is most likely breaking the rules at their home track and "screwing" their fellow racers.
