If a track holds a invitational, they go by home track rules. If the rules for the class are in outer space ( like barrie's) the track has the right to not let some one run. If I ran at sunset with no load bolts, non adjustable sway bars, a rochester 2 bbl, and actual stock, non modified front suspension, steering and shocks, and a barrie challenger ( thats what you might as well call them) showed up, id want them on the trailer too! What about when sunset had no weight rule and they used to show up weighing 2500 pounds? Almost everywhere they went they had to put weight in. Was that fair? Mind you, take a close look at your t-car feature winner from sunset this sat. thats closer to a late model than barries are!

I have the experience of running a Sunset car at Barrie. My car came from Sunset in '04 to Barrie in '07 and I have to say that with a very strong motor and a driver with 20 years experience driving Thunder Cars it would go 16.1, with me 16.6 as a brand new driver. I had the Rochester, metric brakes, truck springs, no load bolts, 7.5, etc... all standard Sunset stuff. I would think a few Sunset cars might be close but most aren't. That being said they do a lot with not as much down there. And put on a good show. Kudos to Sunset for allowing Ed Tremblay to run in the Frosty last year. Hope this year they will make the same decision.

I am only getting it to where it needs to be right now. I made a LOT of changes... But Sunset cars are not like Barrie cars. Ask someone who brought one from that level. And I'm not bashing anyone it the slightest...

Thank god someone posted a reply that wasnt calling me on. YAY.  Tex thank you, thats what I'm trying to tell these guys. Sunset drivers are just as good as Barrie drivers, believe it or not, but their rules packages are vastly different. Take all the trick stuff off a barrie car and see how fast it is.  Now thats gonna get me some flack.

I'm not claiming to be the smartest guy or the fastest, I'm not, but I know a few things. I run around in the back and work on my car a little bit here and there, it's a real stealth strategy  ;D

It's not so much "trick" stuff either. But if you are using parts from some army tank used in the war, or setups from 1984 you aren't going to be fast at Barrie.

The rules are somewhat more open and you have to use your noodle. Stock parts won't cut it. That is the difference.
