Great racing last nite, I think drivers actually had fun last nite for the first time this season... I know the pure stock 4's had a blast, or at least the ones I spoke to. The 3 wide in the corners still makes me cringe but thats racing. Chargers ran nice and clean, great to see for that class. Hope they had as much fun as I think they did. Glad to see the rain didn't ruin the nite totally. Lets hope we can repeat the great racing next weekend...
You cringe when we are three wide, in the drivers meeting we were told you can run 5 wide.
5 wide that's funny. One wide with certain people in that division is scary.
3 wide is no problem if the guy on the bottom knows what he is doing and gets right down.
yea...i must say I am glad to see the starter change and am super glad I don't have to fix anything cosmetic....just overheating issues we must look into....
The night went alright. Dad got stuck in bad lanes in the feature until the last run where he managed to pick off 5 cars in the last run. Too bad for Baker, his car was pretty torn up. Burrage had a nice run and so did Belesky. I am glad the rain held off and let the racing happen. Hopefully the drivers can all run well like this in weeks too come
Ya was a really decent night of racing for sure!!! I thought Dan did a great job on the front stretch flagstand!!! Like to see him stay there till proven differently. Great runs for #3 Ken Denhollander, who had two thirds in the heats. I think maybe a rookie mistake trying to go 3 wide low in the feature cost him a cut tire but excellent night for him all in all. Really lookin forward to seeing the point update for LLM after Baker's misfortune, and Shepherd and McLeod finishing 1-2 in the feature. Baker had a 17 point lead on Shepherd, and 21 on McLeod heading in, Dwayne and Keith had the exact same results in the heats and both those cars picked up 2 more points than Shepherd in heat race action. I figure you could realistically see all 3 guys separated by 7 or 8 points if my calculations are correct!!!! That will make for some great racing with the 50 lap Mid Season on tap this week!!!! Lets hope all 3 guys keep it clean as they have the past few weeks in that division!!! Special mention should go out to the drivers in the Charger division, who have run two features in a row caution free. Pure Stocks were alot better this week with only 1 caution as well. In Thunders Tremblay had problems and might of lost his point lead to Flyin Frank!!! Hard to say if thats indeed the case, but it should be alot closer between the two.( and they were only separated by 7 goin in). In Chargers the hard charging Desi Walt still should hold roughly a 15-20 point lead but its really close in behind with 14 year old Billy Melenhorst, Crystal Doucette, and Chris Free. This has been the best division this year on a week in week out basis in my opinion for both smooth racing and action!!! Will start another topic for your pics in the LLM 50 lapper this coming weekend a bit later.
Yeah Dave, Ken Denhollander #3 got a 3rd and a 4th in the heats, and I don't believe he even saw #42 Troy going high when he got into that altercation with #67 Jeff Smith. Thunder races were great throughout the evening...
Nice to see another tight LLM points race so far this season.
Overall a good night.
