I say thge first night u don't race for points and you (using the transponders) track the times as ppl are really going..no sandbagging...tyhen seperate...as new ppl come out unless they have a rep for being fast put them in the charger and watch.
seperate classe split by time seperate heats common feature scored seperately.
^^^^^^ this is maybe an idea that could work at some tracks, especially if your car counts were low.Have an 8v class and a multivalve class, run the heats separate and throw them together for the feature, scored separate. If and when you have enough of each type(8v and multi)then you can split the features as well.Would involve a little more effort from the scoring side but in the long run would likely be bneficial. It really isnt that much different than what Barrie did this year when they added a few charger cars to the "A" division feature to fill the field somewhat.
only problem holland landing is that we end up getting into the breaking of parts again once penalty weight gets added...to a 2500lb civic...how bout 2350 with a different left side %?
in theory you would assume the rule would work as it is because those little carburated CRX's only make 75hp....
bottom line is rules won't work if they aren't enforced.
The GVW for a civic is about 3400 lbs , in other words it was built to be able to handle you and 4 fat girls going down the street so 2500 lbs is not way too much for the car . Yes more weight means more maintenance and weekly inspections of things like hubs and bearings , but i just don't see the mustang guys voting to see 16 V cars come in at a lower weight then they have to run . If they let 16 V cars run at 2350 lbs it would have to be with an automatic .
Theoretically someone would have to bring a 75 hp carbureted CRX to the race track for me to see first since the only ones at Sunset this year made way over 100 + hp . Remember the night Bo Bo the Clown was pushing the officials around on the track then jumped in his car and drove it off the track pinned in 1st gear ? How did you like the sound of the 75 hp car ?
The few nights i did get to Barrie this year i don't think they even bothered to weigh the minis in tech . So yes Joe if they don't enforce the rules none of this crap matters .
i would like to see barrie change the charger class over to a 16v class.
look at this years turn outs for the "a" class,
didnt have a regular car count.how about leaving the charger class the way it is and allowing 16v in the "a" division that would make more sence to me. imho. ;D
that was my first idea,
didnt think it would go over well,
but i just might and it will also rase the car counts,
🙂
just got an idea.. figuring that 12v, and 16v is only to improve air and fuel delivery, why dont they allow 8v to port and polish, that will fix the 8v power problem.
