The only changes are 3100 base weight with automatic, 3200 with any cast bodied manual trans.Rear floater allowed but must be drum brakes!! No 602's, no rear discs, all other rules from 2010 are it! Therefore any thunders that are a little outdated or older don't have to spend millions to be competitive. i believe this is a smart move and should increase the car counts this year! They did announce an outlaw thunder class that would allow old challengers or llm's to run. any cast iron block and heads, whats inside is your business. any rearend ,even quick changes. #1 plug lined up with upper ball joint, 3 link rearend, front and rear load bolts.
I think we'd still need to spend money in the motor to be a top contender instead of top 5. We'll have to see though. depends if the car sells or if we end up getting good sponsor money. Time will only tell. In the meantime, still looking for a ride in a Thunder or a LLM at Barrie.
also anything mentioned about payout for all 3 classes needing increases? Are they gonna post the points fund for 2011 on the website?
Im interested to know what the payouts are for this new cheater thunder class?
And what kinda turnout did the meeting have? And what percentage of them were just tire kickers? I thought about going, but ive got enough tires to kick around my place 😀
lots of tire kickers and there was a zero response on the outlaw deal. it won't even come to be, in my opinion. no increase in purses, points fund will be posted and not sure about who gets in free this year! thats the answers that were given!!
